The students of classes UKG and I of Delhi Public School Durgapur celebrated National Reading Day in the virtual platform. National Reading Day is an annual event observed to pay tribute to P N Panicker, the father of ‘Library Movement’ .In order to encourage reading among students a DPS Durgapur had organised various gaming activities based on reading skills for the tiny tots of pre primary section. Through a PowerPoint presentation the importance and need of reading was highlighted. The teachers discussed the effectiveness and importance of reading in today’s online world with their students. The activity was conducted with the idea of instilling the practice of reading among the children from a very tender age and to introduce them to a wonderful and enlightening world of books.
