Join the army and see the next world
A very interactive and informative session was conducted by Major Preeti Lochab, from Panagarh Army Base Camp, in the Delhi Public School, Durgapur premises for the Senior Secondary Students on 11th of May, 2023. The session started with the adrenalin rushing videos of the brave hearts, giving their best in different fields. The Major in her presentation, talked about the various ranks, various regiments and the various missions that have been successfully accomplished by the 4th largest Army of the World.
The Major also talked about the procedure to get into the Indian army and also encouraged the young girls to break the age old belief that women cannot be in combat forces. In her talk, the major also discussed, the very challenging SSB (Service Selection Board) interview, yet assured that if one has passion and zeal to serve the Nation, the procedure can be a cake walk. While presenting the PPT, she also said that the life in Army is not easy but the new challenges almost every day makes the life interesting and never ever lets you feel, that the uniform is not worth.
In the question and answer session, the Major cleared the doubts on the ways to serve the Nation by being in the armed forces. One can become a doctor by clearing the coveted AFMC exam and serve the Nation, one can also clear the NDA exam and one can also join through Technical Graduate Course after doing their B.Tech degree. Major Preeti also shared some anecdotes from her personal life to make the session lively and interesting. When asked about any uncomfortable situations a lady officer faces in the field , she proudly proclaimed , ‘For Armed Forces ,you are not a male or a female.. but an officer’.
The students were fascinated to see a young, dashing and very enthusiastic officer in the uniform, who was as eager as them to listen to the queries and clear the doubts. The students were promised many more sessions in the future.
